The VLTOR A5 System was engineered to enhance the interface between the user, weapon, body armor and optics without adversely affecting the reliability of the M16 family of assault rifles. Specifically developed on the request of the USMC, the A5 combo kit is considered to be the most innovative upgrade for the AR platform, increasing the reliability, accuracy and performance of any weapon. It is proven in reducing the cyclic rate of M4 carbines, lowering the bolt carrier velocity and eliminating the felt recoil. It has waterproof side battery compartments that hold four(4) x CR123 or three(3) x AA batteries in each compartment, weatherproof compartment in the clubfoot area of the stock that hold two(2) x AA batteries. It comes pre-assembled with rubber buttplate and strike plate. It is made from impact and temperature resistant polymer, specifically blended for VLTOR stocks and has a matte finish. It has standard military and QD swivel sockets accessible from both sides. It is slightly wider and longer at the toe than a regular M4 stock with a noticeable negative pitch making transitions from the ready position feel more natural. It has a seven position Mil-Spec impact extruded receiver extension specifically used for the A5 system. The kit includes: VLTOR A5H2 buffer weighing 5.3oz and rifle spring, seven position receiver extension, lock plate, lock nut and VLTOR EMOD stock. (Command)
