What Can I Shoot on the range? Posted by Mitchell | 01.13.2020

People ask "what can I shoot" in the different bays, so here's a quick overview:

  1. Pistol calibers rifles, centerfire pistols, shotguns, and rimfire can be shot on the 25 yard bays most anytime.
  2. Rifles/Pistols chambered in 5.56 and 300blk may be shot on the 25 yard bay when the 101 yard bay is at capacity or closed AND with approval from the RSO. We try to keep this to a minimum due to the additional noise and pressure created by these rounds. If we have shooters that complain about these calibers in their while they are shooting, the RSO may ask you to shoot something else or wait for the long bay to open up. If you can't shoot in the long bay for some reason, we'll give you a pass to return on a day that you can.
  3. Most any rifle and/or muzzle loader can be shot on the 101 yard range. Specific exclusions to this are 338 Lapua and 50BMG. THE MINIMUM DISTANCE IN THE LONG BAY IS 25 YARDS. This includes rifles, pistols, and shotguns. There may be some changes coming to this rule over the next few months.

Our goal is to maintain a safe, comfortable environment for enthusiasts, beginners, and everyone in between. Our RSOs are here for your protection as well as the protection of others in the bay including staff. It's also their job to maintain the rules set forth to keep the facility in good working order. If you have a safety or maintenance concern - the RSO is a good place to start.
