Taurus G3C versus G2C
Beyond the basic specs, there are some great upgrades on the G3C. First among them is the inclusion of three magazines in the box—almost unheard of, and we're here for it. Other upgrades on the G3C include front slide serrations and a slightly redesigned magazine well, giving you a better grip for quick magazine changes when needed.
The most significant improvement, though, is in the sights. Bid farewell to the plastic sights of the G2C—instead, the G3C comes equipped with metal front and rear sights, including a 1-dot front post and a black box rear sight. Plus, they’re Glock sight compatible, so if the stock sights aren’t your favorite, upgrading is a breeze
Safety-wise, the Taurus Firearms G3C is packed with nice features. It comes with a trigger safety dongle, striker block, loaded chamber indicator, and manual safety. As for capacity, you have options: 10+1 or 12+1, depending on the magazine you choose.
One more note on the mags: they’re interchangeable. The G3C even takes P226 mags if that’s your preference! The slides, however, aren’t interchangeable between the G3C and other models.

When it comes to holsters for 9mm Taurus pistols, some G2C holsters are expected to fit the G3C, although it’s not a guarantee.
Finding the perfect holster might involve a bit of trial and error until more G3C-specific options hit the market.
Generally, leather holsters designed for the G2C should work, thanks to the material’s flexibility. Kydex holsters, on the other hand, might be a bit more hit or miss due to the G3C’s subtle design differences.
As for the price, the G3C is only about $30 more than the G2C. Considering the upgraded features and extra magazine, it’s an easy decision.
Are There Any Downsides?
Not everyone loves a manual safety. Outside of that, the G3C is a solid firearm!
While Taurus has had its share of less impressive models in the past, the G2C and G3C have definitely marked a turning point, putting Taurus on the map as a serious contender in the budget-friendly concealed carry market.
Taurus Firearms has every right to be proud of the G3C series. It’s a budget CCW that runs well and is actually fun to shoot. Don’t believe us? Test one out on the range
