June 1 Range Changes/Rules Posted by Mitchell Tyler | 05.29.2020

We have almost made it to June! Thank you to everybody that has supported our store over the last few months and gotten back on the range with us since we were allowed to open.  No doubt, things feel a little “odd” with every other lane empty and plexiglass dividers at checkouts – but its good to see your faces!

As we move into the next month, we are anxious to see what Virginia Reopening: Phase II will bring as it pertains to Range Operations.  In the mean time, we are able to tweak a few things to offer more services while maintaining compliance with Phase I requirements. So, starting Monday, June 1 here are some things that will be changing:

  1. Memberships have restarted effective June 1. If you are billed monthly, you should see your first bill since March on June 1.  Members who paid annually will have 2 months added to their expiration dates. If your payment information has changed or card declines, we'll contact you to get it updated.
  2. Reservations are still required for the range.  However, Members will be able to book their reservations with NO FEE via the website. This won’t be “turned on” until Monday.  If you haven’t logged in to our website or done an online reservation, check out our how-to video which will be posted this weekend.  Keep in mind, if your email address is on file with us but you haven’t used the website, you’ll need to do a “password reset” to gain access to it
  3. Rifle Bay is opening! At the Lynchburg location, this will just be from 1-6pm each day.  In Roanoke, we’re excited to open a new range experience in our long bay.  While we have kept 4 lanes at 101 yards for those longer shots, we’ve revamped 3 of the lanes as “Hybrid” 50 yard lanes.  In these lanes, you can shoot pistols, rifles and shotguns at any distance.  One of the consistent complaints from our members and customers is having to leave one bay and go into the other just to switch weapon platforms.  Now, you’ll be able to choose a Hybrid lane via the online reservation system and shoot what you want!  Additionally, we haven’t been able to properly use the turning/robotic target carriers in Bay 1 as they are better suited for handgun shooting.  Soon, you’ll be able to run drills and programs for a truly interactive practice session.
  4. Our standard rental counter will be open, with customers being required to wear gloves while using the rentals. Rent a single gun for $16 or multiple for $22
  5. Members reservations will hold a full hour on the range (a 1pm reservation will last until 2pm).
  6. Mod I, Mod II, and Private range training classes have resumed and more have been added to the schedule. These are being taught in accordance with Social Distancing requirements.
  7. In-person concealed carry classes will be resuming Tuesday, June 9th at both locations.  These classes will be limited to 10 with no walk-ins allowed.  You must pre-register to attend. We will continue to offer our online Concealed Carry class through the end of the year for those who wish to complete the course in an “on demand” format.
  8. New Member benefit: 50% off training classes! Take our Concealed, Mod I, Mod II or Private training classes for half of the normal price.  Cannot be combined with other promotions/offers/coupons. This can be done at the range counter for right now, with website pricing updating next week for these.
  9. Per Governor Northam's Phase II executive order, only 1 person may be on a range lane. There is no exclusion for members of the same household in the wording of this rule.  No lane sharing of any kind is permitted on the range at this time.
